The community is at 835 members, with a lot of new triathletes this week. The first team event is decided: Most Miles in a Month won the vote 10 to 8 over daily challenge drops, which becomes the second event. Running, cycling, swimming and hiking all count.
What we built last week
- The #1 mistake connecting Garmin to Claude: handing it your data with no baseline, so it invents workouts that have nothing to do with the athlete you are
- vVO2 max: the best single performance indicator for endurance athletes, how to find yours, and how to move it
- VO2 max vs running economy: two numbers people treat as one, and the one actually deciding your race time
- Heart rate zones: the 7 running zones and how to calculate yours with Claude
- COROS August update: what changed and whether it matters
- Google Pixel Watch 5: the rundown and how it compares to Garmin
- 4 ways to use AI to run better: the simple ones, for anyone just starting
Coming this week
- Rebuilding the wearable screens: the WHOOP, Garmin, COROS, Oura and Strava dashboards that sit behind a subscription, built one at a time from data you already own
- A jump height simulator
Community notes
- Growth: 835 members, up from 789.
- Most Miles in a Month: sponsorships and prizes for the winning team are in the works, with weighted scoring to follow.
- Buzz demo: the test group is live and working through the platform's rough edges.
- Still owed: numbering the Athlete OS Library prompts. It gets done this week.
