Week 10: Team Apollo vs Team Poseidon

The community is at 930 members and closing in on a thousand. Most Miles in a Month starts September 1 with two teams, Apollo and Poseidon, and scoring weighted so no sport is penalized: run and hike 1 to 1, bike 3 to 1, swim counts 4x. Thank you to Maple Boost Nutrition for putting up prizes.

What we built last week

Coming this week

  • The jump height model: your phone camera measuring jump height from flight time, the same method a force plate uses
  • The squat form model: every rep graded on depth, knee track, bar path and spine angle
  • The aero model: what your position on the bike costs you in watts
  • One free platform for four subscriptions: Oura, Strava, WHOOP and Garmin, about $600 a year, consolidated

Community notes

  • Growth: 930 members, up from 876.
  • NYC Marathon: I am running it in partnership with Endorphins and New Balance, and taking the Athlete OS to a world major. Endorphins' main app is free and their paid AI coaching has a two-week free trial. I only recommend tools I use, and their commitment to free data for every user matches how this community works.
  • Strength poll: balancing lifting with endurance training took 10 of 14 votes, so that is what gets built next.
